Un-Chosen

Written & Produced by Sharon Katta

Prefix.

I wear pride like armor, hiding from the world and even from myself. I parade confidence, achievements, and ideals, yet beneath the surface, uncertainty and fear stir in silence.

Unchosen is a journey into that inner tension — the push and pull between ego and vulnerability, inheritance and self, performance and truth. It moves through moments of satire, confession, and reflection, revealing the masks I carry and the shame I fight in silence.

At its center is a question that echoes long after the song ends: Who am I beneath all this pride? There is no tidy answer, only the raw, unflinching examination of self, identity, and the inherited weight of the past.

Lyrics.

Intro:

Pride is like a dance

That reveals all our hidden fears

Don’t you dare offend me, therefore I’m offended

Undiscovered darkness, holds powerful secrets

Escapism, my sweet prison

Brief joy

Ever lasting pain

Verse:

NPC Living, A place where

Preconceived notions reaffirming the space

Rejecting opposites, our horrors making way
While algorithms feed us night & day

The lack of opposites amplifying the space

Inherently more offended, the embodiment of hate
NPC Living

A place where Hail self centred, all self serving, pretentious dreamers stay

I deserve my own documentary

An article detailing my artistic calling

I'm a legend

Look up-to me

as I proudly present my presentable virtue
A Multifaceted, versatile Artist. writer, composer

phenomenal storyteller, a pseudo philosopher

a performative activist preaching wisdom whilst

trapped in the cage of acknowledgment
Hoping I can skip my own-judgement

Skip being torn back in to pieces

Im straight gunning for peace as I desperately reimagine my narrative

Chorus:

Who Am I beneath all this pride

Just a shadow lost in the light

Beneath all this noise a truth hides

In the mirror, who Am I

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Admit it, admit it

Verse:

My pride, there’s a truth in it

Protective primitive defences, engrained in it

Who am I

A 3,000 year old cry for identity

The caste pride, untouchable tribe—generational crime

Look down. Fold your hands

We’re simply unworthy to be seen equal, Unequal

The legacy of law, the patriarchal Manu system

The system that restricted our freedom in chains of tradition

Dictating who to talk to, to listen & even the way we walk & dream too

Bridge:

Pride is like a dance

That reveals all our hidden fears

Don’t you dare offend me, therefore I’m offended.

Who Am I?

Who am I, Who am I

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Can you admit, Admit it! (Who am I)

Admit it, admit it.

Verse:

The conscious versus unconscious

The sharp push & pull

My partner, she calls this back & forth

While my paster, warms me about my strong holds

Like Pursuing painful patterns like trying to please our parents,

but they’ve been struggling tho.

Now this Fear resurfacing, fear of rejection, as deep confusion

But my sister says don’t worry, We’re in this together.

A failed experiment

This is a life of an occupational escapist

Trying to prove that I’m worth it

To my initial caregivers

To the irrelevant strangers

Truly Enslaved,

From here flows my sense of direction

What is love & acceptance?

A fairytale juggled in every part of living

A fight or flight zone,

Fear of incompetence, underperformance

Fear of general survival

Fear of not being seen for who i am

Fear from all the wrong choices, and the consequences from past

All backed into a defensive mechanism

Where the world is one battlefield

And me Presenting a version with chest up

Shoulder’s straight

Broken child, ashamed

Now turned into a cold stone

Often labelled as a man

An esteemed identity

Masquerade of pride.

Outro:

Some of us we never flow

No way home

Some of us we can’t know.
